Dr. Edward Kowlowitz: Pain Management and Treatment Specialist

Dr. Edward Kowlowitz (Dr. K) is the founder and medical director of Indianapolis’ Center for Pain Management. He is also the founder and medical director of the Center for Special Surgery and Meridian MRI. Dr. Kowlowitz is known in the medical community as one of the leading experts on chronic and acute pain management and treatment. He is also an international leader in spinal cord stimulation therapy.

Prior to opening Indianapolis’ Center for Pain Management in 1992, Dr. Kowlowitz served as chief of anesthesiology at PhysiciansCare Outpatient Surgical Center and medical director of the Winona Hospital Pain Management program. As a leading authority in treating chronic neuropathic pain , he has conducted extensive research and training with Advanced Neuromodulation Systems. His work has helped improve the safety and effectiveness of neuromodulation devices such as spinal stimulators. Spinal cord stimulator implants are often well suited for patients with post laminectomy syndrome (failed back surgery syndrome), Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) or non-operative spondylosis.
