Sacroiliitis

Sacroiliitis, the term given to pain originating from the joint between the sacrum and ileum of the pelvis, is a chronic pain condition treated at the Center for Pain Management. Sacroiliitis symptoms can vary, as can sacroiliitis treatments. Treatment may include joint injections, mobilizations and pelvic stability exercises.

The pelvis is typically thought of as a solid structure, however there is subtle movement that occurs between the bones that make up the pelvis. Within these joints pain can originate in the ligaments, nerve supply to the joint surfaces, and as a result of subluxation or poor alignment.
