Acute Pain Treatment
The Center for Pain Management provides rapid diagnosis and treatment for people suffering from acute pain.
If you have experienced the sudden onset of back or neck pain, you may be able to secure an appointment with one of the Center’s pain specialists within 48 hours.
At your appointment, one of the Center’s three board-certified physicians will provide consultation and diagnosis and then recommend an appropriate treatment plan. This may include physical therapy, imaging, or interventional procedures such as local injections or nerve blocks — all with the goal of returning you to function as quickly as possible.
To be seen by one of the Center’s physicians for acute care, you should not have been experiencing pain for more than one month. The prescription of narcotic pain medicine requires extensive review of previous treatment and past medical and social history. For this reason, narcotics will not be prescribed at these acute care appointments.
The Center also offers chronic pain diagnosis and treatment if your pain has existed for more than one month.
For an appointment, call the Center for Pain Management at 317-706-7246.
